CLARKSBURG TEEN SHOT - A fifteen-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Saturday after a shooting in Clarksburg.

Reports said a number of young adults were hanging out at a home behind Washington Irving Middle School when one of them pulled a gun and started pointing it at people in the room.

The gun went off and hit the 15-year-old in the abdomen, police said.

The victim was taken to United Hospital Center and then transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital, and at last word, had been released.

Clarksburg Police arrested Christopher Vickers, 19, and charged him with malicious wounding.

Vickers told police the shooting was an accident.

He is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

MERCER MAN DIES IN SHOOTING - State Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred Tuesday in Mercer County.

Officials report 19-year-old Rene Coleman of Panther was shot in the chest, and died from her injuries Tuesday evening at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.

The incident remains under investigation.

Authorities say there were several people at the residence at the time of the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
