FATAL CLAY CRASH BEING INVESTIGATED

Authorities are investigating the cause of a car crash that killed a 29-year-old Lizemores, Clay County woman on Route 16. Crystal Jones, a mother of three, was driving a vehicle that went off the road near Bickmore Tuesday night. The vehicle struck a tree. Clay County Sheriff Randy Holcomb said there were two passengers, including Nathan Stephenson, 29, who received slight injures. He said Stephenson was hospitalized briefly and then arrested after his release. Stephenson was reportedly on probation for meth in Clay County, but probation was revoked after he was charged with crimes in Kanawha County prior to the accident, said Holcomb.
