Calhoun's 911 is getting a much-needed improvement, a new radio console for its communication center. Delegate Bill Stemple, who is also the counties Director of Emergency Services, a volunteer position, presented a $10,000 Budget Digest check to 911 Director Barry Pitts yesterday.

Pitts said the current radio console had become a patchwork of pieces put together to keep it operating. "This improvement is an important upgrade to our communications."
