Bernard D. Coon, Sr., 75, of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at his home. He was born October 16, 1932 in Rocksdale, WV, a son of the late Fred and Etta Husk Coon. He served in the United States Army at 3rd Armored Division, Fort Knox, Kentucky and was a retired farmer. He is survived by 2 daughters, Kelli Collins and her husband David, of Stumptown, WV and Etta Coon of Grantsville, WV; one son Bernard Coon, Jr. of Easton, PA; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Fay Coon, one daughter, Susan Ostrander, 3 brothers, Gifford Coon, Holly Coon and Fred Coon and 2 sisters, Nancy McKown and Daisy Donato. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in Collins Community Cemetery, Stumptown. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m.
