Shooting occurred at residence in rear of photo

A man has been wounded and another is in police custody after an early morning shooting incident.

According to reports two men were involved in an altercation at a house on Pine Creek Road near Mount Zion around 6 a.m.

Cpl. J.B. Hunt, of the Grantsville Detachment of the West Virginia State Police responded to the scene.

The victim, believed to be about 46, was found shot in the leg and transported to Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville by Calhoun Emergency Services.

Initial reports said the shooter fled the scene, but is now in custody at the Grantsville Detachment.

The names of the two men have not been released.

There is no reports on what led to the shooting or the victims condition.
