NIKI LILES ATTENDS RHODODENDRON GIRL'S STATE

Niki Liles represented Calhoun County at Rhododendron Girl's State, June 8-13th at Wheeling Jesuit University.

Niki, a 17 year old Calhoun High School senior, was chosen as one of 357 delegates from all over the state on the basis of her academic standing and leadership abilities.

While attending Girl's State, Niki studied the basis of all levels of government, including City, County, and State. Niki "resided" in Calhoun County, was a member of the Federalist party, a Rhododendron Girl's State chorus member, city clerk for Calhoun County, Spirit leader for the Federalist party, and the Minority leader in the House of Delegates. Niki successfully introduced and passed a bill putting recycling into effect next year at Rhododendron Girl's State.

State officials visiting the campus included Congresswoman, Shelly Moore Capito, Secretary of State, Betty Ireland, Delegate Jack Yost, Governor Joe Manchin, Supreme Court Candidate Margaret Workman, and Justice Larry V. Starcher.

Niki is the daughter of Teri Liles of Big Bend and Dave and Dorothy Liles of Delphos, Ohio. She resides with Casey Harris.
