VA NURSING HOME COULD BE REALLY OPENING

(07/02/2008)
Federal inspectors from the Department of Veterans Affairs arrived at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Home in Clarksburg this week to complete an inspection that could lead to the facility officially opening.

"We are happy they are here, and things are moving on," said Dr. Kevin Crickard, nursing home administrator.

The inspectors are reviewing all nursing home processes, procedures and policies, spending time with residents and interviewing staff members.

The facility has faced multitudes of problems in the past year or so, with numerous ill-fated announcements being made regarding the opening of the facility.

The $26 million facility eventually will house 120 residents.
