John E. 'Cowboy' Channels, 65, of Spencer, WV, died November 23, 2001. He was born April 11, 1936 in Roane County a son of the late Grover and Lora Carpenter Channels. He was a retired master electrician and plumber. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Channels of Spencer; three daughters, Tina Marie Weekly of Toronto, Ohio, Debra Ann Steward of Sistersville and Kandie Faith Sampson of Stumptown; two sons, John R. Channels of Toronto, Ohio and Joseph H. Nelson Jr. of Spencer.; one sister, Blanche Mitchell; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, John E. Channels Jr. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 25 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home of Spencer. Reverend Howard Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery of Spencer. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
