The annual Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Dept. will be held Saturday, July 5th in Elizabeth, West Virginia.
Schedule of Events
Firecracker 5K Fun Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m.
Fireman's Parade - Lineup at 10 a.m. Parade
starts at 11 a.m.
Noon-12:45 The Peacemakers. This Gospel group
is a ministry formed in 1991 during the Desert
Storm Prayer Vigils held throughout the world.
1-1:45 The Peacemakers. This group
spreads the Gospel through a unique blend
of "live spiritual" vocal harmonies accented
with musical instruments.
2-2:45 Cover 1. Is a contemporary
Christian Rock band made up of members from Wirt
and Calhoun Counties. The band plays a mix of
songs from popular artists as well as many songs
they have written.
3-3:45 Cover 1. They are currently in
the studio, recording their first CD made up of
all original material. So put your hands
together one more time for Cover 1.
4-4:30 The Marks Family. The Marks
Family is a local group that sings Gospel music
with an acoustic touch. Something that you don't
want to miss.
4:30-6:00 Auction with John Jones. We have
invited John Jones again this year to assist us
with an Auction of various Donated items. The
auction is always an exciting event of the day
so bring a lawn chair and stay for the evening,
you will not be disappointed.
6-6:45 MIXX is our featured
entertainment for this years Ice Cream Social.
MIXX is a six member group which plays music for
all ages. They did a wonderful job last year and
really got the crowd moving.
7-7:45 MIXX will again take the
stage for your listening pleasure. Casey Powell,
the lead vocal for the group made it to the
finals in the 2002 American Idol show. This Band
is a High-Energy group that you will not want to
miss.
8-9:45 Blackwater Run. Blackwater Run is
a Southern Ohio based band that plays a variety
of bluegrass, gospel and old time country music.

This time of the evening is always
filled with fun and excitement, one never knows
what will happen once the sun goes down.
Hot dogs, ice cream and other goodies
will be sold all day. So, bring your lawn
chair and your appetite.
