CAIN OFFERS $1000 REWARD RELATED TO VET CLINIC HEIST

(06/18/2008)
A $1000 reward is being offer for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons connected with the breaking and entering of Cain's Veterinary Clinic at Big Bend on May 6th.

The reward is being offered by Dr. Joe Cain.

The culprits entered the clinic by prying a garage door open during the late night or early morning hours, taking a safe that contained cash, checks and controlled drugs.

Dr. Cain indicated a number of items are missing from the clinic, including a purse belonging to Dr. Daniel Cain's wife.

The heist could involve several thousand dollars.

Cain said information regarding suspects should be given to the WV State Police in Grantsville.

Although the State Police does not release public information regarding breaking and enterings or stolen items, Sgt. Jeff Skidmore did tell the Herald a few weeks ago a number of ATVs had been stolen, possibly eight to ten in the region.

Police did not release names of the affected parties or what locations the thefts occurred.

A number of people have contacted the Herald saying they have property missing, reporting gasoline stolen and breaking and enterings.
