Workers at The Common Place Restaurant in Glenville began their flood clean-up chores shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday.

Go Mart, Pizza Hut and most other downtown businesses were forced to delay clean-up, as more than two feet of water remained under the town's traffic light and beyond.

News that floodwaters were retreating brought out many people to see in person, as well as drawing a number of volunteers to help.

Fred Moore (left) with several people assisting the effort, wasted no time cleaning The Common Place Restaurant on Main Street. Moore is in the doorway of the well-known establishment, returning what nature left behind to the great outdoors.
