BIG SPRINGS WOMAN DIES IN BATH TUB - Former County Clerk And Town Recorder Dies

A 46-year-old Big Springs woman was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in a bath tub on Back Fork Rd. Monday evening, apparently dead-on-scene when Calhoun EMS arrived.

Coroner Stacy Harlow was investigating the death. The body was taken to Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville.

Former Calhoun County Clerk and Grantsville Town Recorder Phyllis Reed Whipkey, about 68, reportedly coded early yesterday as Calhoun EMS arrived to a residence at Five Forks.

Emergency services personnel attempted to resuscitate Ms. Whipkey, but she was pronounced dead.
