MHHS RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Minnie Hamilton Health System (MHHS) has been selected by the Health Workforce Solutions LLC (HWS) as an innovative care delivery model.

In 2007, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded an original research project by HWS to identify and profile models of care that could be widely replicated throughout the United States.

HWS began with over 2,000 leads, of which they selected 60 models for in-depth research interviews. Based on specific criteria, HWS chose 24 health care facilities as innovative care delivery models.

The only health care provider chosen in West Virginia, MHHS was recognized for its Comprehensive Rural Care Collaborative model.

The Comprehensive Rural Care Collaborative model is an integrated health services model that provides comprehensive health care and wellness activities to a rural community.

The primary goals of the Comprehensive Rural Care Collaborative Model are to: Provide access to high quality, primary care services in rural community; Improve preventive health care services; Retain inpatient services in community; Create a financially viable health care delivery system.

At Minnie Hamilton Health System, healthcare professionals and operational staff has established a team environment that embraces innovation, change and flexibility. Individual staff members have the freedom to innovate, write grants, and design new ways of effectively delivering services. MHHS only hires new staff members who are comfortable with change.
