BRAXTON RECOUNT FOR SHERIFF ENDS QUICKLY

A former Braxton County Sheriff will take that spot again, following a short recount of ballots. George Keener received more votes then Chief Deputy Chuck Hosey in a recount Wednesday in Sutton. Hosey finished behind Keener by 26 votes on election night. Hosey then asked for the recount, but called it off after he failed to pick up significant ground when the first few precincts were recounted this week. The official results are still to be certified by the Braxton County Commission. Keener and Hosey are both Democrats.
