![]() Valedictorian Briana Blankenship (L) Salutatorian Amie M. Carilli (R) Briana D. Blankenship has been named Valedictorian and Amie M. Carilli as Salutatorian for Calhoun County High School's Class of 2008. The scholars will give addresses at the 84th Commencement Exercises at 7 p.m. Friday, May 30 at the school. Briana is the daughter of Rick and Terry Blankenship of Grantsville. Her high school activities include band, Student Council Secretary, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Secretary, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Class Vice President and Math Field Day. She is a 3 year member of West Virginia All-State Band, WVU Honor Band, Macy's Great American Marching Band, and WSAZ Best of the Class. She provides special music at the First Baptist Church in Grantsville, and is a volunteer for Relay for Life, the Wood Festival, and the American Red Cross Blood Drive. Briana will major in music education at Marshall University. Her career plans are undecided at this time. Amie is the daughter of Susan and Butch Conrad of Orma and John and Laura Carilli of Daytona, Florida. She is Student Council President, Senior Class Treasurer, and National Honor Society President. She is a mamber of the Adopt-a-Highway program, Mu Alpha Theta, varsity basketball and softball. She was Queen Flora XLV and sophomore class homecoming princess. She was named to the 2nd Team LKC Softball in 2007. Amie received the PROMISE, McKelvey, WVU Mountaineer, Mountaineer Parents Club, Carl Morris Memorial, Lions Club and WP Black scholarships. She plans to attend West Virginia University majoring in pre-pharmacy with the intent of becoming a pharmacist.
