Police investigating gunshot incident on Pine Street early today

Police and ambulance services responded to a reported gunshot incident near 60 Pine Street in Grantsville at 5:20 a.m. today.

A 49-year-old man, according to a 911 report, allegedly shot himself with "a home-made device" likely associated with a .22 caliber bullet, said the caller.

A woman reported the man walked away from a residence following an argument.

An EMS worker reported encountering the subject at 5:39 p.m. indicating the man had a chest wound.

Grantsville Police Chief Charles Stephens and State Police responded, and are investigating the incident.

The man was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care System in Grantsville.
