Laura M. Pratt - Thornton

Laura M. (Mosser) Pratt, age 75, of Thornton, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Grafton.

She was born October 21, 1932, in Wade, Ohio, a daughter of the late Thurman M. Mosser and Lydia Hazel (Snider) Mosser.

Surviving are two sons, Gary A. Pratt and wife, Kathy Pratt, of Fairmont, Douglas R. Pratt and wife, Nadua B. Pratt, of Grafton; one daughter, Sandra Kay Swisher and husband, Dale Swisher, of Grafton; four grandchildren, Elise and Angela Pratt, Gabrielle Taylor and Isabella Pratt; four sisters, Mary Slaton of Grafton, Genevive Slaton of Clearwater, Fla., Mildred Idoni of West Palm Beach, Fla., Grace Gray of Englewood, Fla.; one half-brother, Rick Northcraft of Pennsboro; a close friend, Woodfield "Chuck" Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles H. "Bud" Pratt; and her brother, Charles Ray Mosser.

Mrs. Pratt formerly worked as office manager for the Crislip Motor Lodge in Grafton, a nutrition site assistant for the Taylor County Senior Citizens Center, a member of the Thornton Water Board and a Taylor County election poll worker. She attended Calhoun High School and graduated from Grafton High School in 1951. She was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Pruntytown.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton from 4-9 p.m. on Monday and from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Brian S. Cole officiating.

Interment will be at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
