Car lands in creek bed near Stinson after crashing against guardrail

A car traveling north on State Rt. 16 near Stinson crashed into the creek late Sunday night, sending the driver to Roane General Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

peeling it back about 10 feet with impact

The car reportedly went left of center, crashed into the end cap of a steel guardrail, peeling it back about 10 feet, and knocking the bumper from the car, the vehicle then landed about 125 feet down-stream from the point of impact.

Calhoun EMS and the Upper West Fork VFD responded to the scene.

Sgt. Jeff Skidmore of the Grantsville Detachment investigated the accident.
