Kathleen Workman, 83 - Spencer

Kathleen Workman, 83, of Spencer, West Virginia, formerly of Walton, died Friday, May 16, 2008, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

She was born Tuesday, August 5, 1924, at Charleston, a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Young Workman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Giles Workman; one sister, Irene Teel; foster parents, Ovie and Myrtle Jackson; two foster brothers, Larry and Richard Jackson.

Kathleen was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the Johnson Creek Baptist Church, Walton, where she was a former church clerk and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include two nieces, Samantha and Amber Teel both of Pasadena, Texas; two foster brothers, Mayford Jackson of Clendenin and Tommy Jackson of Spencer.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, May 19 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery, Walton. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m.
