Vehicle strikes tree, car lands over
embankment, injuring Calhoun youth

A Calhoun youth was injured Sunday afternoon when his SUV went out of control on on rain-slick Rt. 16, about two miles north of Grantsville at Pleasant Hill.

Eddie Burrows, 19, was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville for treatment of injuries following the 5:50 p.m. accident.

The Burrows vehicle struck a large tree, stripping its bark, before going over a hillside.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded to the scene.

Cpl. Jeff Hunt of the State Police was investigating the accident.
