Ray Bartlett, 83, a well-known Calhoun minister and teacher has died.

Bartlett, a resident of Big Springs, died Saturday in Minnie Hamilton Health System, following an extended illness.

He was a retired teacher from Calhoun County High School and a prominent Baptist minister in Calhoun, Gilmer and surrounding counties.

Bartlett was a former Nationwide Insurance agent in Grantsville and a US Navy veteran.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with the Rev. Kenneth Heiney officiating.

Interment will be in in Nobe Cemetery. Visitation is from noon Saturday until time of services.
