Wesley S. "Sonny" Brown, 66 - Wallback

Wesley S. "Sonny" Brown, 66, of Wallback, West Virginia, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in the Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway, after a sudden illness.

Sonny was born Sunday, October 19, 1941 at Fola. He was a miner, who had worked at Ward's mine, Elkhurst. He was also a member of the Maysel Community Church, Maysel.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Brown of Wallback; five sons, Richard of Ivydale, Terry of Vinton, VA, Michael of Frazier Park, CA, Danny of Wallback and Shaun of Rosedale; one daughter, Tammy Peck of Amma; two brothers, General Shamblin of Wallback and James Shamblin of Droop Mountain; four sisters, Annie and Dorothy Shamblin, Catherine Crofford and Susan Carr all of Marlinton; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlon and Elsie Brown Shamblin; one brother, Eddie Shamblin; one sister, Mary Roberts.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Maysel Community Church, Maysel, with Pastor Brodis Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 6-8 p.m.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
