HAROLD LEE LLOYD - Newton

Harold Lee Lloyd, 51, of Newton died November 11, 2001, in CAMC General Hospital, Charleston.

He was born Dec. 15, 1949, at Newton, WV a son of Edith Nichols Lloyd of Spencer and the late Velbert V. Lloyd. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joice Ann Lloyd.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator who had worked for Carl E. Smith and Sons, Sandyville, Shaffer Pipeline, Clendenin, and High Power Energy, Summersville. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132, Charleston, and the United Mine Workers of America District 17. He was a member of Linden Lodge 83 AF&AM, Linden, and the Newton Baptist Church, Newton.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son, Brian Lloyd of Newton; one daughter, Karla Lloyd of Maysel; one sister, Sharon Freeland of Spencer; two brothers, Allen Lloyd of Newton, Virgil Lloyd of Spencer; one grandson, Tyler Lloyd.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. J. Herbert Smith officiating. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, will be in the King-Kirkhart Cemetery, Newton.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
