She was born July 29, 1907, in Reedy, WV a daughter of the late Will and Susan M. Stewart Ashley. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Ralph Atkinson in 1986; several brothers and sisters.

She was a homemaker, and owned Charles's Restaurant, Spencer, for a while, and worked at several other area restaurants. She was a Methodist and atteneded several area churches.

She is survived by: three daughters, Betty Boggs of Liberty, N.C., Doris Jean Cline of Spencer, Sharon Wine of Reedy; two sons, Delmer Atkinson of Reedy, Darris Atkinson of Spencer; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
