Icie Criner, 93 - Duck

Icie Criner, 93, of Hallsburg Community, Duck, Clay County, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord May 3, 2008.

Born October 28, 1914 at Nicut she was a daughter of the late Annis and Rebbecca Vaughn Hardway. She spent her entire life serving the Lord and caring for her children.

She was a member of the Clay First Baptist Church and had been a cook at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton, Ohio and the Orma Elementary School and was a caregiver.

Surviving are four daughters, Marie Marks of Fairmont, Waneta Marks of Duck, Ruth Burnside of Ivydale, and Cora Criner of Clay; 2 sons, Denver "Leon" Criner of Akron, Ohio, and James "Jim" Criner of Glendon; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Criner, three sisters, six brothers, and two grandchildren.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Masel Duncan, Joyce Anderson, Blanche McCracken, Donna Williamson, and D.J. Taylor for their love and wonderful care. Also Hospice Care Inc, and the Clay County Health department.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Gary Maynor will officiate. Interment will be in Criner Cemetery at Wilsie.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until time of services.
