IVYDALE CRASH SENDS TWO MEN TO HOSPITAL

A two vehicle collision shortly after 9 a.m. on a Rt. 16 hill near the intersection of Rt. 4 at Ivydale has sent both drivers to the hospital.

The accident happened a short distance from Cunningham Motors.

Well-known Clay resident Gene King was life-flighted to CAMC, reportedly with head and other injuries.

Sources at the scene said King stopped his vehicle for deer in the highway, after which James Taylor crashed into the King vehicle.

Taylor was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the extent of his injuries unknown.

Clay County emergency services extracted King from his vehicle.
