HASHMAN PLACES IN SKILLS USA COMPETITION

Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center was honored to have Dillon Hashman and Weston Hershey compete in the Skills USA state competition, April 12.

The event was held at the Ben Franklin and Carver Career Centers in the Charleston area.

Skills USA is a national partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled work force in technical, skilled and service occupations.

Dillon Hashman placed second in Precision Machining, winning a silver medal. He plans to complete the associate degree program for machinery at Robert C. Byrd Institute in Bridgeport following graduation from Gilmer County High School in May.

Dillon, is the son of Lee and Cindy Hashman of the Normantown area. He is a second year student in Mr. Townsend's Metal Technology program. He is also a member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society.
