TAKE CONTROL WITH EXERCISE - Program For Those With Arthritis Or Related Conditions

The Calhoun County Committee on Aging (CCCOA) is starting a new "Take Control With Exercise" program designed by the Arthritis Foundation.

The program is for anyone with arthritis or related rheumatic disease or musculoskeletal conditions. The goal of the program is to improve the health and well being of participants, and to cope better with the effects of arthritis. Many exercises can be done while seated.

The instructor will be Linda Harris, who has a long background in the medical field. She attended a training course prescribed and taught by the Arthritis Foundation.

The six-week course will be held at the Grantsville Senior Center May 19th through June 25th, Monday and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.

Components of the program will include, range-of-motion exercises; strengthening exercises; and endurance activities.
