RICHARDS ARRESTED FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER

(04/17/2008)
State Police have arrested John Manis Richards, 44, of 777A Pell Street, Grantsville, for failure to register as a sex offender.

Richards was reportedly arrested in Wood County on a criminal complaint filed in Calhoun by Sgt. Jeff Skidmore.

The complaint says Richards failed to notify the State Police for required yearly verification.

The complaint says Richards continues to use the Grantsville address as his mailing address and on his WV driver's license, and was given by him to the Gilmer County Court as his address.

Richards, who is currently facing multiple charges related to the alleged stealing of materials and a truck from Hardman Supply in Glenville, was released on $10,000 bond.

Richards was a fugitive for several months, following the charges issued against him by Gilmer authorities for the alleged Hardman incident.
