BEECHER SENTENCED - Circuit Court In Session

Judge Thomas C. Evans III is presiding today over circuit court in Grantsville. - Sara Beecher, sentencing, represented by Tom Whittier - Bernard Smith, plea, represented by Rocky Holmes - Nine juvenile cases are before court. During an earlier session, Christopher Todd Smith of Grantsville appeared for arraignment on drug and other charges, with defense counsel moving to strike a count of the indictment. That count was connected to the alleged misuse of his grandmother's funds which he reportedly used to post bond, his attorney said that Smith had valid power of attorney over those funds. Action on the matter will be taken later this month. A case against Vandal was dismissed without prejudice because Deputy Metheney no longer works for the Sheriff's Department.
