Frank D. Hathaway, 79 - Grantsville

Frank D. Hathaway, 79, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Born February 12, 1929 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Ira D. (Doc) Hathaway and Bertie Sturm Hathaway. He was a US Navy and Army veteran and was retired from E.I. Dupont Company in 1986.

He served as a member of the Wirt County Board of Education and the Wirt County Development Authority. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Hathaway and 3 sons, Tim (Sue) Hathaway and Terry (Teresa) Hathaway all of Washington, WV, Rick (Donna) Hathaway of Parkersburg, WV; a daughter, Kim (Jack) Shea of Salt Rock, WV; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 4 step-children, Diane (Gene) Satterfield, Sherry (Poe) Gunn, Kim (Robbin) Starcher and Kevin (Denise) Starcher; 7 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Hathaway; brothers, Ophard, Ira D., Cleo, Willard, Frederick and Freddie; sisters, Dessel, Mittie and Janivee.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will be in the Good Hope Cemetery at Reedy, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
