| Carl Buzzard, 82, of Newton died Nov. 6, 2001, in the Roane
General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.
He was born June 18, 1919, at Marsh Fork, Raleigh County, a son of the late
Asa and Almeda Stanley Buzzard. He was also preceded in death by: a sister,
Elizabeth Moore; brothers, Elmer, Boyd, Bethel, Jim and Gilbert.
He was a retired employee of Carbon Fuel Coal Company and a member of
UMWA Local 17.
Survivors include: his wife, Virginia M. Spence Buzzard of Newton; sons, Kermit
of Middleport, Ohio, Jackie Lee of Ronceverte; daughters, Patti Batten of
Newton, Nena Capehart of Middleport, Ohio; sister, Alice Bowman of Hamilton,
Ohio; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer,
with the Rev. J. Herbert Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery,
Wallback. |
