RITCHIE COUNTY'S BEASON NEWS

Greetings from Beason. The area that has been transformed into Ritchie County's most prestigious community. Rumor has it there is a celebrity residing in this neck of the woods.

The boys have managed to miss the bus a few times due to the fact Avery has wardrobe issues. We have some major drama choosing coats and shoes. I keep reminding him he is not expected to make a fashion statement at age six. Perhaps we need to continue studying numbers and letters prior to becoming a junior version of Calvin Klein. I need to give Pat Boone a shout out for letting my kids hitch a ride on his bus on those late mornings. Thanks Pat!

We had two T-Ball practices since last week's weekly report. According to inside sources, Avery felt he was too good to practice. He has been quoted as saying, "I don't need to practice. I already know how to play." Where are Reader's Digest representatives when you need them? I am sure there is a section designated for those "embarrass my parents as much as possible" comments. I know he doesn't get that "tude from me.

Ethan hasn't really had an official practice for Little League until today. I think we had a rude awakening due to the fact we haven't spent any time practicing prior to now. We have a few players returning plus some new ones. We need to extend a warm welcome to our fresh faces. May we all have a season of the non-dramatic variety.

Junior Taylor has made it to the sick list again. It has been brought to my attention that he had a bad spell the other night. Unfortunately, I was unable to be reached that evening. I apologize for not being there when you needed me. My cell phone was A.W.O.L. for the night (as usual). I wish I had a more reliable piece of technology. There's nothing like a phone that rings "You Gotta Fight For Your Right" (for you pups, that song is from 1980-something by the Beastie Boys), but its not going to help in an emergency when it decides to remove itself from any technical responsibilities.

Mrs. Sharon Taylor will be celebrating her 29th birthday on April 15th. We hope she has the greatest birthday ever! I know I am going to stay 29 forever (getting deeper and deeper here, grab your boots.)

Brian is doing the midnight thing again this week. I feel for anyone who does this shift on a regular basis. I also feel the pain for their families. Half the time I don't know whether I am coming or going. (That's not a good example, I'm like that anyway). But, it is difficult to keep on top of your game.

I would like to thank those who came out and patched some places in our road. I don't want to seem ungrateful, but, there is a huge crater left where the water runs every time it rains. It is very dangerous when the hole fills and the road becomes a pond. One can't clearly tell where the road is when it becomes that deep. That can be quite an issue with any older folks that frequently travel our road.

Congratulations go out to Dervin Huffman for passing the Millwright Exam. Now, you are officially a member of the most creative bunch of pranksters and nick-name givers. But, I think you already knew that from your cousin DirtBag. Who wouldn't be proud to be related to someone with that nickname? Anyway, good luck Dervin.

May we all have a great week filled with excitement, happiness, and above all, peace within.
