BRAXTON MAN FACING 80 YEARS IN PRISON

A Braxton County man, Shawn Stewart, 28, is closer to a third trial in a Raleigh County court. Stewart is being indicted on several counts, including malicious wounding, aggravated robbery and attempted murder in connection with a trio of beatings that happened over a six-day period at a Beckley home in 2003. Stewart has already been found guilty of assault in two other trials and is facing four-to-20 years in prison. In the current trial, investigators say the robbery charge could send Stewart to jail for up to an additional 80 years.
