BEN LAUGHLIN EARNS ALL-AMERICAN WRESTLING STATUS

Benjamin Laughlin of Arnoldsburg is Calhoun County's first All-American wrestler and a member of the Freshman National Wrestling Team, placing 6th in the National High School Coaches Association Freshman National Championships held in Virginia Beach.

Ben competed in the 135 pound class in a 29 man bracket with wrestlers from 17 states.

West Virginia's Freshman team placed 13th out of 40 states.

They were represented by nine freshmen, three earning All-American honors.

Other place winners were Josh Fisher of Roane County placing 5th at 103 pounds and Chris Smith of Parkersburg South, placing 4th at 152 pounds.
