WV TRUCKERS PROTESTING HIGH FUEL COSTS

(04/04/2008)
You might want to stay away from Charleston today.

Organizers are expecting 200 to 300 truckers to join a rally to protest high fuel prices at the state Capitol.

The truckers are protesting the price of diesel fuel, which has jumped to $2,400 or more a week for most of them.

Back in 2000, fuel costs were $600 a week.

The rally will start at Flatwoods in Braxton County and head down Interstate 79 to the Capitol for a meeting with Gov. Joe Manchin.

Kanawha Boulevard is being shut down to give truckers enough room to park.
