FAIRMONT STATE STUDENT SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES - A Fairmont State University student was shot near a popular bar in Fairmont yesterday morning about 2:30 a.m.

It happened in a parking lot on Fifth Street across from the Wise Guyz Club.

Eric Snead, 19, was shot multiple times.

A press release said police officers were already on scene dealing with a "large, unruly crowd" when multiple gunshots were fired.

Snead was taken to Fairmont General Hospital to be stabilized and later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Police say the suspect or suspects fled the scene.

WOMAN SLASHER - The case against a woman accused of slashing another woman's face, will have her day in court.

Charleston Police say Brittany Sterling cut Shontah Christan earlier this month at the Transit Park on Laidley Street.

Christan had to be taken to the hospital with serious facial injuries.

Sterling's been charged with malicious wounding and is in the South Central Regional Jail.

DODDRIDGE STUDENTS HAVE GUN IN SCHOOL - Doddridge County school officials say a gun was found at the high school earlier this week.

Officials received an anonymous report that the gun was at school on Monday and that two students were involved.

The State Police came to the school Tuesday.

School officials say the investigation concluded that there was a gun at the school and that "appropriate disciplinary steps have been applied for the two students".

Officials declined to release public information about what kind of gun it was, whether it was loaded or not, or if there were any threats involved in the incident.
