William G. Jones, 72 - Rockport

William G. Jones, 72, of Rockport, W.Va., passed away March 23, 2008.

William was born in Calhoun County in 1935. He served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a dedicated employee of 32 years at C.H. Heist and a lifetime member of the Painters Local 1144.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Norma "Jeanie" Jones; and three daughters, Penny Jones, Peggy Kendall and Sharyn Tallman.

William was also proud of his grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Bernadine Stephens and Ernestine Dulany; mother-in-law, Eloise Gates; and many nieces and nephews.

His family would like to acknowledge the many doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals that went above and beyond in his caregiving, along with many neighbors and friends.

In addition to his parents, Merl and Ervin Jones, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Jones and Thurl Lance; and one sister, Eleanor Casto.

According to William's wishes, graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
