WV RATES HIGH IN PRE-SCHOOL EFFORTS

A study gives West Virginia's preschool effort high marks for preparing preschoolers for kindergarten.

A Rutgers University study released this week ranks the state's preschool education program fourth nationally for offering state-funded early childhood education to 4-year-olds.

The study also says West Virginia's pre-K program, which began in 2002, met seven out of 10 benchmarks for quality.
