PUBLIC WATER COMES TO WIDEN AND DILLE

State Director Rick E. Rice announces that Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Grant in the amount of $623,076 for the Birch River Public Service District, Nicholas County, WV. Rural Development funds will be used to extend public water service to the Dille and Widen areas of Clay County and the Morris and White Oak areas of Nicholas County. This grant completes a Rural Development funding package totaling $1,982,076. A previous loan of $630,000 and grant of $729,000 were obligated in Fiscal Year 2007. "The project also includes upgrades to the existing water distribution system in order to serve 268 potential customers with reliable water service," added Rice.
