Several Pleasant Hill Elementary students read aloud at least 10-15 minutes each night to someone the month of February and tracked their reading on a calendar provided by Title I.

At the end of the month, they turned in their calendars and a random winner was chosen from this group to pick out a prize. Each child pictured above received a pencil, eraser or poster.

The winner this month was Whitney Stevens. Whitney (left) is in first grade at PHE and is the daughter of Mitch and Shelly Stevens of Grantsville.

Congratulations to all of our Title I Readers for February.

Title I will organize this reading incentive program each month of the school year. We hope to increase the number of students participating each month. Research has shown that students who practice reading will become better readers. We hope to encourage more of our students to become Title I Readers of the month.

If you would like to become a Title I Reader of the month and did not receive a calendar, please let Mrs. Ratliff or Mrs. Parsons know. It is not too late to join our club.

Some students were not pictured due to absences.
