Halcie M.Helmick Lamb - South Charleston

Halcie M.Helmick Lamb, 92, of South Charleston died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Ludington Woods Care, Ludington, Michigan.

She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Calhoun County, and was a daughter of the late Okie Deel and Ivy Postalwaite Deel Helmick.

She was a 1936 graduate of Calhoun County High School. She was a retired sales clerk from Sears, Roebuck and Company and was a member of the South Charleston Church of Christ.

Halcie enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking and participating in various activities with her church family.

She also enjoyed spending time with her family and especially watching all of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews grow up.

Halcie was a generous woman who had a lively spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She was deeply committed to her family and her faith. She was a friend to all she met and will be sadly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Creed; and brothers, Marcel Deel of Pineville and Forest Deel of Mansfield, Ohio.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Lamb of Ludington, Mich.; grandchildren, Dr. Lisa A. Hotovy of Ludington and Adam L. Lamb and his wife, Reannon, of Grand Haven, Mich.; sister, Maxine Witte and her husband, Paul, of St. Albans; stepsister, Darlia Lowe and husband, Ralph, of Massillon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with Minister Louis Watts officiating.

Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Stepping Stones, c/o South Charleston Church of Christ, to support the Ohio Valley University in Parkersburg.
