Mabel Mae "Nanny" Metz, 85 - Spencer

Mabel Mae "Nanny" Metz, 85, of Otto Route Spencer, West Virginia, passed away March 10, 2008 at her home.

Born April 16, 1922 in Randolph County, she was a daughter of the late George Randolph and Opha Blanche Mahaney Louk. She was a Christian and a Baptist.

Surviving are four daughters, Emogene Bowers and Mary Butler and her husband Grover of Spencer, Elsie Hammrick of Massillon, OH, and Bertha Dyer of Jeffersonville, KY; one son, Olen Metz of Shreve, OH; a special friend, Bonnie Spellman of Creston, OH; 1 sister, Ola Coager of Rock Cave, WV; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Owen Vear Metz; a daughter, Grace Metz; 6 brothers, Dan, Roy, Burr, Bedford, William, and Elsworth; four sisters, Virgie Night, Glady Boggs, Virginia Good, and Tippy Bender; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a half brother and sister, Albert and Alice Louk.

Special people Nanny held dear to her heart are granddaughters, Robin Holstein and Angie Jett and her husband Chris, grandson, Larry Bowers, great grandchildren, Jacob Butler and Brittany Holstein.

The family wishes to especially acknowledge Caty Wagner and Tacy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 15 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Reverends Leon Strickland and Darin Cale will officiate. Interment will be in the Wilson-Lester Cemetery Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
