SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED IN ROANE HOLD-UP

(03/11/2008)
State Police arrested a 17-year-old in connection with an armed robbery of a country store in Roane County.

James Harrison, of Sissonville, is the second suspect arrested for the robbery of Huffman's Store on Left Hand Hill, U. S. 119 near Walton.

Harrison was arrested Sunday at a house in Teays Valley after they received a tip about his location.

It is unclear whether or not Harrison will be charged as an adult.

Harrison is charged with armed robbery and grand larceny.

Police say Harrison and Luke Hamilton entered the store with shotguns and stole $500 cash and 29 cartons of cigarettes.

Hamilton was arrested last week at a motel in Kanawha City, where troopers recovered one of the shotguns.

Police say the other shotgun was found at one of Harrison's relative's house. None of the money has been found, but investigators say a few packs of cigarettes have been recovered.

Harrison was taken to the Lorrie Yeager Detention Center in Parkersburg.

Hamilton is incarcerated in South Central Regional Jail.
