CHOPPER CRASHES AT WILLOW ISLAND PLANT

2:45 PM - A helicopter crash Sunday afternoon near St. Marys has sent the pilot to the hospital. A helicopter from a St. Louis helicopter company was removing construction equipment from a new scrubber at the Willow Island plant along the Ohio River. Calhoun residents on high hills can see the top of the Willow Island towers, about 50 miles away. Alan Staggers, with Allegheny Energy, fell into a coal dust pile near the new scrubber.
