HAZARDOUS ROADS CAUSING CRASHES - Three-Year-Old Receives Head Injuries

12 NOON - Multiple car crashes are being reported to Calhoun 911 today from snow and ice covered roads.

A single vehicle crash on Rt. 5 west of Grantsville near Cabot Station was reported with Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responding at 11:30 a.m.

The occupants were taken to MHHS before the arrival of emergency service.

Reports said a three-year-old child received injuries when a car her mother was driving struck and broke-off a telephone pole. The child was reportedly transfered to a Charleston Hospital with a head injury.

The female driver and two other children reportedly received minor injuries. The side of the van was heavily damaged, crushing the door.

Two crashes are being reported between the Arnoldsburg "Y" and Millstone Hill at noon, one of the crashes being reported by the On-Star satellite system saying "air bags deployed during crash"

Emergency services are responding to those reports.

Cars reported in the ditch on Town Hill, Grantsville.

Emergency services responded to a single vehicle accident on Sand Ridge at 8:32 a.m., the car on its side. The driver signed refusal for medical treatment, Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded.

Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded to a single vehicle crash on Liberty Hill at 2:23 a.m. No injury.
