4-H CLUBS HAVE FEBRUARY MEETINGS

The Grantsville Guppies 4-H Club met on Thursday, January 20 in the Calhoun Court House Little Court Room.

The club had their refreshments first, with Ann and Amber Frymier serving.

The meeting was called to order by President, Stephanie Roberts.

Pledges were led by Amber and April Frymier.

Opening song, The H's Four, was led by Ryan Swearengin and Rebbicca Newlon.

Members answered roll call by naming their favorite food.

Business discussed was the adoption of the Club By-Laws. Sandra McCumbers, the club leader, discussed the poster contest and encouraged members to participate.

The Heads Up Seven Up game was played by all present.

In February the club met for their regular meeting on Thursday, February 7th.

The Finance and Health committees met for a few minutes. Each committee gave reports, with the Health committee members showing some good exercises and explained the importance of exercising.

For a fundraiser the club will have a booth at the Wood Festival.

Project books were also given to members so that they could start working on them. We would like to welcome one new member, Casey Hall. Next meeting is scheduled for March 6th, at 4 p.m.

The club also had two poster workshops in January and February. Joining them were the Pleasant Hill Corn Poppers 4-H club members.

The Pleasant Hill Corn Poppers 4-H Club held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 26 at Pleasant Hill School.

Special guest speaker was Shari Johnson, who spoke about drug abuse.

The meeting was called to order by Chris Lacey, in the absence of the President and V-President.

Members answered roll call by stating their favorite food.

New Business was to elect a new V-President and that member is Chandler James Newell.

Project books were distributed to all members present. Some members were absent due to sickness.

Refreshments were served by Cassidy Burrows, Tea Boatright, and Zaylah Taylor. Others attending were Johnathon Taylor, Casey and Conner Ritchie.
