LADY PIONEERS DEFEAT SALEM - First Round WVIAC Tournament

Glenville State College's Lady Pioneers (17-11 overall) (15-6 conference) dominated Salem from the tip-off, Monday evening, leading by nearly 30-points in the second period, ending with a final score 67-47.

It was Karina Kendrick's final game at the Jesse R. Lilly Gymnasium.

All remaining games will be at Charleston's Civic Center. The Lady Pioneers next appearance will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in quarterfinal action.

Donita Adams led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 23. Kendrick followed with 20, and Kristen Golden added 10.

Sunday the WVIAC announced Kendrick was named to the All-WVIAC first team. The six-foot tall senior forward averaged 14.2 points per game and 11.7 rebounds this season.

Adams was named to the All-WVIAC second team. Golden was named to the All-Freshman team, and Mallory Menendez was included in Honorable Mention honors.
