GET READY TO BE STIMULATED - Tax Rebates Coming In May

(02/27/2008)
American taxpayers are anxiously waiting to be stimulated by getting a check in the mail from IRS, a plan the government hopes will lead to direct spending to help the recession.

Hundreds of thousands of West Virginians will be getting that check in the mail sometime this spring, provided you file your taxes on time.

Congress and the Bush administration worked-out the economic stimulus package that includes rebate checks ranging from $300 to $1200.

The IRS says you don't need to fill out any fancy forms, just their tax forms by April 15th.

Checks should be in the mail in May.

Direct deposit will get your regular refund to you quicker, but it will also put taxpayers at the front of the line when it comes time for the rebate checks.

If you're a social security recipient, or veteran's benefit recipient and are not normally required to file a tax return you may need to fill out a simple form.
