Glenville State College and Calhoun County Middle-High School are working together to put into place a visible program that illustrates the importance of higher education to both students and parents.

The goals of the project are to increase the number of students who graduate from high school with the skills that will prepare them to be successful in college and to increase the number of students who will attend college.

Five students from grade levels 8 through 12 at CMHS were selected. College mentors will make monthly contact with their assigned high school student.

Each student will receive complementary passes for GSC athletic events and cultural events. Each student participant will be invited to summer activities held on the GSC campus, including an ACT prep workshop.

If the students continue to participate from the time he/she is selected as part of the program to high school graduation, he/she will automatically receive a renewable $1000/year scholarship to Glenville State College (subject to maintaining a 2.5 GPA).
